Cheryl Yin

Secretary

Cheryl Yin is an Assistant Professor of Anthropology at Carleton College, specializing in Khmer language and culture. A first-generation scholar, Cheryl earned her BA in Anthropology and Linguistics from Pitzer College before completing her MA and PhD in Anthropology at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.


Born and raised in Long Beach, California—the largest Cambodian American community in the U.S.—Cheryl recently moved to Minnesota and is excited to connect with local Cambodian Americans. She looks forward to contributing to community growth and cultural preservation through her expertise.
